Prize: $1,000 U.S. Savings Bond for the winning nominee to use as a scholarship to an accredited college, junior college or university.

Comments: Submit a merit essay of 500 characters or less explaining why a particular teenager between the ages of 13-17 and an AAU registered athlete you know has excelled in leadership and advocacy, community service, extra curricular involvement and overall moral character. Nominators must be 13 years of age or older at the time the nomination is made. Nominees must be between 13 to 17 years old as of October 25, 2007.
