The webmagazine Néo presents “ Bag in Town”,  a design competition in collaboration with IED and Eastpak.
Creative designers are asked to join in the new design competition Bag in Town - A bag for 24 hours. Held in collaboration with the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED), within the portal Creativecontexts.com  , it explores the relationship between the bag and the urban environment. Bag in Town aims to redefine the aesthetic and functional basis underlying bag design, asking one simple question: “What constitutes the perfect bag for 24 hours?”
The participants over the age of 18 are invited to visit the dedicated website www.bagintown.net. Design proposals are accepted by the portal up until July 1st, 2012. The six best projects will be selected on the basis of style and innovative point of view – three by a specialized jury and three by the wider public.
The six selected designers will be treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience at the IED Creative Factory in Milan. Over six intensive days, the finalists will receive expert guidance from EASTPAK product and marketing managers and IED design management specialists with the goal of manufacturing a prototype of each design and transforming their respective projects into reality. These prototypes will then be published on the Bag in Town website and once again subjected to public scrutiny. The winner will be awarded a cash prize of €5000 and the creation will be launched on the market in 2013, as part of the new EASTPAK collection.
